Sculptures/Installation

SCULPTURES / INSTALLATION

Ants

These ants are installed in Crowne Plaza Chennai Adyar Park hotel ,Chennai.

Ants - It is the series of work done with ants as subject.

Ants collecting food in unity is part of our collective consciousness . The act of sharing food with one another is a religious experience, Art's essentially function is to share the act of sharing and union becomes a strong metaphor for this work .

The idea of the micro becoming the macro takes centre stage, I have purposefully made this work large, dimensions being 300 cms by 600 cms and mounted it on wall, it is to bring the smallest being i.e ant into our immediately noticeable visible world What was stuck in a remote corner of our consciousness suddenly becomes a larger reality. A reality we have to confront and engage with. To give a feel of earthliness I have made the sculpture in brass and copper.
